Had a nice practice at Lee Valley yesterday morning - my feet are getting under me again and went through most things that we did in my lesson. All those little exercises to help technique in various things. Backward crossovers feel like they are getting faster again (I'm sure not fast enough for DE but I don't think they ever will be!) and even mohawks were feeling much better than they have for months, with the corrections she gave me on Wednesday.
I also ran through all my dances - and on the whole, not too bad. The only bit I sometimes bottle out of (not always) is the cross in front, cross behind on the Golden Skaters Waltz. I don't know why I occasionally bottle it - I haven't fallen on it . . . yet! Rhythm Blues felt pretty good, and even though it was a public session, the ice was quiet enough for me to do at least two consecutive sequences of every dance, so was very pleased about that.
And then it was off up to Leicestershire for a garden party of a work colleague who has just retired, in his beautiful home. Lots of sparkling wine, poached salmon, canapes, and later barbecued hotdogs. And I spent an inordinate amount of time cuddling a four week old baby - little Katie - and having a lovely time doing so.
I'm going to be dreaming of babies now for weeks . . . sigh . . . At the wedding, I heard a lot of "It'll be you next!" and regarding babies yesterday, some "It'll be you or Stacey next!". It'd be a miracle - I don't even have a current boyfriend, lol.
